Chandanaish Samity-Dhaka recently accorded a reception to the meritorious students of Chandanaish upzila, Chittagong residing at Dhaka at a function organised by the Samity at National Press Club, Dhaka , says a press release.
A total of 40 students of PSC, JSC, SSC, HSC, honours and postgraduate level were awarded and given crests, certificates, and books.
Former Chief Justice Mohammad Fazlul Karim was the Chief Guest while former election commissioner and ex- president of Chandanaish Samity-Dhaka M. M. Munsef Ali was the special guest.
The function was presided over by the president of the Samity Md. Abdul Jabbar Chowdhury. The former Chief Justice told that the students are the future of the nation. As their prime work is to build up their career, he advised the students to devote themselves to studies and work for building better Bangladesh when the responsibility will be rest on them in future. Among others, Dr Rita Sen, Md. Abul Kashem Bhuiya, Adv Masud Alam Chowdhury, M.A. Taher, Shahidul Alam Zinuk, Adv Md. Abdus Salam and Finance Secretary of the Samity Mohammad Abdul Jabbar who happens to be an anti-tobacco man and Executive ecretary of ADHUNIK also spoke on the occasion. Md. Borhan Uddin, General Secretary of the Samity conducted the function in a befitting manner.
At the end, a cultural function was also staged with the courtesy of SAHIC, a unique health center for the treatment of ear, nose and throat.
