Prof Dr Md. Golam Samdani Fakir, Vice-Chancellor of Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) has been awarded for his contributions to ensure quality education in GUB. The University authority awarded him on Monday at the University’s Green Auditorium. University Treasurer, Md. Shahid Ullah presided over the meeting while Lt General Md. Mainul Islam (LPR), Registrar of GUB, Prof Dr Golam Ahmed Faruqui, Dean of Green Business School, Prof Dr Md. Fayzur Rahman, Dean of Science and Engineering Faculty, Prof MM Khan, Advisor of GBS, Prof Dr Nitai Chandra Sutradhar, Advisor of Dept of Textile Engineering, Prof SMK Nazmul Haque, Controller of Examinations, Md. Ashraful Anowar, Director of Finance and Accounts, Chairpersons of different departments and faculty members and a handful number of students of GUB were present on the occasion.
Before the discussion session, 17 Students Club and different departments greeted him with bouquet of flowers and declared him ‘Sol of Teaching and Learning’. Recently, Prof Md. Golam Samdani Fakir has received George Harrison Award 2016 and Atish Dipankar Gold Medal-2016 for his outstanding contribution in the field of education and research.
He has also received “Lifetime Achievement Award” from Bangladesh Organization for Learning and Development (BOLD) for his outstanding contribution in the field of learning and development. At the discussion meeting, the speakers cordially thanked Prof Dr Md. Golam Samdani Fakir for getting the awards. They also reflected on such initiatives like, GUCETL, Formative Assessment, Green Voice, GIFT, Peer Review, CRIT, Mentorship, Club Fair, Language Center, Customer Service Excellence, CTL Course, Social Capital, Inner Voice Forum, PLSD, Leadership Training, CCD, PSCU, Graduate Competencies taken by the Prof Samdani Fakir in GUB for developing and ensuring quality education at GUB.
