Organizing committee of Chittagong Divisional and Disrict Krira Sangstha suspended the reception function to the heroic members of Bangladesh cricket team played in the recently completed ICC world cup in Australia and New Zealand.
The programmes for according reception to tigers suspended fearing any sort of violation of the upcoming election code of conduct as directed by the Election Commission. Return officer of CCC election-2015 and local election officer in a letter at about 10 pm on Thursday informed the decision of the EC to reception committee and instantly committee decided to suspend the reception on schedule.
This suspension of the reception was apprised to the respective quarters as well as media at about 11 pm by the General secretary Divisional Krira sangstha Sirajuddin Md. Alamgir over phone and internet.
According to previous schedule the Tigers were expected to reach the port city at 10 am on Friday and back to Dhaka by last flight of 7.10 pm after ending reception function. Mentionable that a number of Mayor and councilor candidates are involved with the reception committee and hence there is every possible of violating the election code of conduct and so it was suspended before the CCC election.
