Staff Reporter :Reaz Rahman, an adviser of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, was shot in the city on Tuesday evening. The former state minister for foreign affairs was shot in his car in front of the Westin Hotel in city’s Gulshan-2 area when he was returning from Khaleda Zia’s political office where the BNP chief is confined, said BNP’s media wing. Sources said that some unidentified miscreants shot him and torched his car at about 8:45 pm. Injured Reaz Rahman was admitted to the United Hospital Limited at Gulshan-2. The doctors of the hospital said that he received at least three bullets in his legs and waist. His daughter told The New Nation that the condition of his father is not good. He is in critical condition till filing the report.When contacted, Gulshan Thana police said that they were aware about the incident. “We have no any specific information about it till now, however, we have sent enough forces to the spot,” said Md Faisal, Duty Officer of the Thana. Earlier on Friday, the car of Khaleda Zia’s another adviser Sabihuddin Ahmed was also torched near the Gulshan office. He went there to meet the BNP chief.
