Uncapped Real Madrid teenager Rodrygo has been included in Brazil’s squad for friendlies against Argentina and South Korea next month, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) said on Friday.
Other newcomers in the 23-man squad are Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luis, Roma goalkeeper Daniel Fuzato and Real Betis defender Emerson.
But there was no place for Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar, who is still recovering from a hamstring injury sustained in Brazil’s 1-1 draw with Nigeria on October 13.
Brazil meet Argentina in Saudi Arabia on November 15 before visiting Abu Dhabi to play South Korea four days later.
Rodyrgo, 18, has made just three senior appearances for Real Madrid since completing his 45 million-euro (50 million U.S. dollars) move to the Spanish capital from Santos in July.
He scored on his first-team debut – 93 seconds after being introduced as a substitute – in Real Madrid’s 2-0 victory over Osasuna in La Liga last month.
Tite did not include any Brazil-based players in his squad to avoid affecting clubs competing in the final stages of local competitions.
Following is the Brazil squad:
Goalkeepers: Alisson (Liverpool), Ederson (Manchester City), Daniel Fuzato (Roma)
Defenders: Danilo (Juventus), Emerson (Real Betis), Alex Sandro (Juventus), Renan Lodi (Atletico Madrid), Thiago Silva (PSG), Marquinhos (PSG), Eder Militao (Real Madrid), Felipe (Atletico Madrid).
