Protest by 71's Ganomukti Sangram Parishad: Real freedom fighters ignored in Parashuram UZ

“Real Freedom Fighters were ignored in Parashuram as the Upazila Administration gave a reception on December 16 last year to the local freedom fighters,” said Abul Kashem Chowdhury, convener of 71’s Thana Ganomukti Sangram Parishad of Parashuram.
Abul Kashem Chowdhury said it on Sunday through a statement to media in this regard.
The statement said that the administration has given crest as freedom fighters to their close persons ignoring the real freedom fighters.
The real organizers and freedom fighters in the upazilas were not invited in the reception ceremony, said the statement.
It said that the then provincial parliament member AFK Safder led to organise freedom fighters in 1971 forming
Ganomukti Sangram Parishad following the directions of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
It also said that the then Awami League Thana Unit President late Anwarul Haque Majumdar, the then Mohokuma AL General Secretary MS Huda, Thana unit AL General Secretary late Aminul Karim Majumdar Khoka Miah, late Wahidur Rahman Majumdar, Jahangir Khandali, Makhan Lal Sarkar, late Sukumar Nath, late Fakir Abul Kashem, late Mostafa Rabiul Hossain and Eyakub Chowdhury, among others, were ignored in the reception.
The statement called the action as a distortion of history and protested it.
