The so-called ‘real BNP’ men were beaten up by the BNP activists in city’s Nayapaltan area on Monday afternoon. The incident took place at 2:45pm.
Witnesses said, the real BNP men started a procession after 2:00pm chanting slogans in the name of their leader Kamrul Hasan Nasim in front of Palwel Super Market. When they reached near the Jonaki Cinema Hall the BNP workers and activists attacked the procession and beat the participants with sticks. As a result, some of the real BNP men were injured in the incident.
Sources said, after getting information that the so-called ‘real BNP men’ are taking preparation to stage a procession, the party workers and activists gathered in front of the Nayapaltan office with sticks. After foiling their procession the BNP men staged demonstration in front their party office.
However, their leader Kamrul Hasan Nasim was not present in the procession. One of his followers, injured in the incident, said that he was taken to Dhaka from Jessore to join the procession.
