Peace in Myanmar At All?
The stability of neighboring Myanmar has become a very important issue for our country for various reasons. Among them, the Rohingya issue is at the top of the list. When the then Myanmar government started massacring, raping and burning Rohingyas on a massive scale in 2017, millions of Rohingyas fled their homes and took refuge in Bangladesh as neighboring country. The incident had direct and indirect support of the Myanmar army.
Due to the long stay of Rohingyas in Bangladesh, it has become a serious problem for us as a poor country. The Myanmar military juntas seem not interested in the repatriation of Rohingyas. So the instability created in Myanmar has left serious anxiety among us.
