Stop Provoking Activities Of French Magazine
Recently French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo published a provocative cartoon about Islam and its prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The latest edition of the magazine, which was targeted by Islamist gunmen in 2015, shows two people lying in a pool of blood having been run over by a van next to the words “Islam, religion of eternal peace.”
It is a matter of grave concern over what it described as a horrifying act prompted by stereotyping and mocking of Islam’s greatest personality. When mankind needs to unite in such crucial times facing the world due to the continuation of the coronavirus pandemic to exert more efforts to achieve solidarity, tolerance and respect of cultural and religious diversity but then the whimsical act of the magazine is very dangerous and unacceptable culpable crime.
Freedom of expression doesn’t mean that whatever they like can be published and expressed, they should be bear in mind that like the freedom of expression, everyone has the right to perform their religious belief and faith. Religious belief and faith is a very sensitive issue for all and someone can’t compromise at all. Charlie Hebdo not only hurts the sentiment of others belief but also provoking the extremist. Basically the magazine wants its publicity through publishing the sarcastic cartoon across the world. French government should stop such provoking activities of the magazine, otherwise, it would be very harmful for the world peace and stability.
