China-US interest
conflict over Pacific
China’s Air Defence Identification Zone (ADIZ) is seen as the Beijing’s strategy to become a super power. The Beijing government says that aircraft operating within this zone must follow certain rules such as filing flight plans or face defensive emergency measures. But the USA, Japan and South Korean military aircraft defied these rules and the Japanese commercial carriers have agreed to a government request not to comply.
The Beijing government’s silence astonished the whole world because China is the world’s second largest economy and its nuclear warheads can strike the US mainland over the Pacific Ocean.
However, the following day, Chinese air force sent its fighter planes into the defence zone and warned the world that the intruders would henceforth face China’s defensive emergency measures. To this, the military experts were fearing an limited war between China, on the one hand, and the USA, Japan and South Korea.
If Beijing lands its troops in the disputed island claimed by both Japan and China and what would be the Chinese reaction to the possible US military base in the Bay of Bengal?

Bangladesh in Test cricket
Although the Test format is considered the standard of international cricket, Bangladesh has not been able to achieve this criterion of cricket at the expected level in the last 21 years. The cricketing statistics of wins and losses in a total of 121 matches both at home and abroad in the elite arena of Tests, is not at all promising or pleasant for the country.
Bangladesh is at the bottom of the ICC ranking list. The consistent weakness of the BD Team in batting, bowling, and fielding in the long format like Test cricket is tremendously noticeable. In particular, the crises of quality fast bowlers, amateur batting mood, coming back to pavilion playing unnecessary shots, and the tendency of top-order to middle-order batsmen to lose wickets quickly are the major reasons for recurring catastrophes in Tests.
At the end of the day, cricket is a team-bound game. Therefore, in order to win, the relevance of playing with three different teams of professional cricketers in three formats of cricket might be thought. Above all, the board, selectors, team management, and coaches – all have to make the right decision in a cricket-friendly manner to uplift the image of Test cricket of the country.
