Implement law to ban polythene
Bangladesh was the first country in the world to ban the production, marketing and use of polythene by enacting a law on March 1, 2002. But surprisingly, widespread and irresponsible usage of polythene is poisoning our rivers, canals and oceans.
It has been 20 years since the ban announced, but the usage of polythene has not decreased at all. As a result, the environment and the health of humans and animals are all being affected.
Effective measures have to be taken by implementing the law banning polythene products. We think this dangerous and heavy usage of polythene should be dealt with immediately. The use of eco-friendly jute products should be increased and people should be encouraged to use this healthy alternative.

Dhaka and its traffic
The government has recently built a few foot over bridges and flyovers, which made travelling to a few places in the capital Dhaka a bit easier. However, should the government not look at the other side of the story, too, which is the traffic on the roads of Dhaka?
If the initiative to get the unfit vehicles and those without licence off the road is taken strictly, it would certainly reduce the risk of road traffic accidents. Moreover, if the roads that are in need of repair are taken care of, eventually traffic congestion would ease to a great extend.
