Arbitrary Cutting Of Trees
Taking initiative for tree planting on the occasion of Mujib centenary some youths from Sutia village of Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga planted three fruit trees and one Mimusops elengi flower tree in the Sutia-Srirampur street. A few days later, a class of worm in the area destroyed the fruit trees. The only Mimusops elengi flower tree survives the memory of the Mujib years.
Although there are enough trees on the roads of all the other villages of Jibannagar upazila, there are not many trees on the roads of Sutia village due to some narrow -minded people. They do not understand the benefits of trees for sustaining life are undeniable. I am seeking the assistance of the Jibannagar upazila administration and the local forest department in this regard to take initiative to plant trees in this area on the occasion of Mujib years and to punish the perpetrators of arbitrary cutting of trees. Let the greenery of the tree be all around. The beauty of the beloved woman will go away one day but nature is eternal youth. So, it’s our responsibility to maintain the balance of the natural environment.
