Geo-politics Over Afghanistan
China, Iran, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia and Turkey are ready to recognize the new Afghanistan government as soon as it is formed. Meanwhile, the Taliban spokesman has invited China to contribute to the infrastructure development in the war torn country.
With an area of 652860 km, a population of 3.80 crore, and gross domestic product 19.29 billion, the Central Asian country is bordered by Pakistan on the east and south, Iran on the west, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan on the north and Turkmenistan on the north-west, its official language is Pashto, Dari.
National interests control the current geo-politics in the world. If the above six countries recognize the Taliban dominated country, the western power can’t do any harm, as we have found in the case of Myanmar. When the most Muslim countries and the West including the USA stood by Bangladesh over the Rohingya issue, Russia and China did not hesitate to veto the UN Security Council Resolution to save Myanmar.
The interesting thing is that many of our friends are afraid of the rise of the Taliban militia once again. But we do not think so. Bangladesh interest can’t be hurt, but Pakistan may be in troubles if the Islamabad government is not careful.
Let us wait for the bright future of Bangladesh.
