Reasons Behind Crimes
Greed, pride and jealousy are the reasons of crime in every society regardless of laws to punish the wrongdoers. The said three factors have branches and tributaries. So, to check the misdeeds, old laws are reformed and new laws are made. Yet we see increasing tendency in human beings of committing crime. The wrongdoers do not even fear the punishment to be given by Allah in the Hereafter. They say that He is Merciful and will forgive their sins. This is wrong conception and wrong teaching. Every action has its reaction.
Similarly, the governments must be hard in dealing with the criminal. If they can overcome their weakness for offenders, there may remain few crimes in the society. It must be understood that Allah will take account of all things. (Ref: Sura Nisa: 86).
