Corona Pandemic
The corona pandemic is a horror to the mankind at the moment. Its destructive thrust has already claimed over three million lives. Nobody knows how many people will die of corona in the coming days?
However, the other day I witnessed a debate whether it is from heaven as punishment or it is man made? Let us see what the Quran says. In Verse No. 155 of Sura Baqarah, Allah says, “And I will try you with something of fear and hunger and loss of wealth and lives and fruits. Give good tidings to the steadfast.”
Verse No. 133 of Sura Araf, states, “Therefore, I sent upon them widespread death and the locusts and the lice and the frogs and the blood; clear signs. But they behaved haughtily and they were a guilty people.” Allah sent plague also and finally drowned them in the sea, as stated in Verse No. 134 and 135.
But Verse No. 42 of Sura Room gives a bit different justification. The Text is, “Catastrophe has appeared in the land and the sea on account of what the hands of men have wrought.” Verse No. 30 of Sura Shura says, “And whatever Misfortune befalls you, it is on account of what your hands have wrought.”
From the number of deaths and the verses of the Quran, it appears that Corona has been sent as punishment.
