Learning English correctly :
English is used as exchange of opinions and views among people all over the world. And that is why we should learn English properly and correctly. For this, we need to study English grammar. Anyone who does not have good knowledge about grammar, he is not able to speak and write correctly.
The English grammar has 31 branches of which the learners must know eight branches at least. These are tense, sentences, parts of speech, narration, voice change, sequence of tense, articles and punctuation.
The sad thing is that the learners ignore the rules of grammar. According to general rule, the verb in the reported speech must be of corresponding past tense if the reporting verb is in the past tense.
Example: The mayor said that I shall discuss the issue with the city councillors. This sentence is incorrect. The correct one is: The mayor said that he would discuss the matter with the city councillors.
One’s thirst for knowledge, helps his/her to learn things better and correctly. However, pretension is not good anyway.
