Women Football Team not honoured
What a pity it is that the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has not registered its name in the qualification round of the AFC Women Asia Cup Football beginning in Jordan from April 3. Every one knows that the Bangladesh Women Football team earned more successes than its male counterpart in 2016, but these sadly escaped the notice of the BFF President Kazi Salahuddin.
In this regard, we like to remind the BFF that it is not a condition that a football official must be a good footballer. If we look at the career of the world famous footballers, past and present, we shall see that a very few of them became respective countries’ football federation chiefs.. We do not know whether the entry deadline has expired? If not, the opportunity must be exploited.
Twenty-one nations namely Bahrain, Guam of the USA, Hong Kong of China, India, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, North Korea, Myanmar, North Korea, Palestine, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taipei, Tajikistan, Thailand, UAE, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and host Jordan will be divided into three groups of five and one group of six.
At the end of the qualification round, the four group champions will join Australia, China and Japan in the final round to be again hosted by Jordan in April 2018.
In the Women World Cup, Asia has good track record. It seems BFF, particularly its big boss, has deep apathy towards the women team.
