Dismal performance indeed!

The Bangladesh team will perhaps go down in cricket history as the second team to lose a test match after scoring close to 600 runs in the first innings. Why did they declare instead of playing on to score as many runs as possible? Aren’t the captain and the team management aware of their team’s perennially poor performance in second innings? They could have achieved a draw as a best case scenario under the circumstances.
Moreover, the team also drained out 20-30 more runs in New Zealand’s first innings due to the captain’s poor rotation of the bowlers around the end of the innings. There were poor decisions all around. I hope the team and management will apply the lessons learned from these experiences while playing test cricket in the future.
