We need development, not destructions
We are appalled and feeling disgusted by the action of the Chatra League activists who swooped on the people who were protesting against the government’s decision to set up Rampal Power Plant near Sunderbans.
In the mayhem police also took part, they stopped the cycle procession of the protesters who were moving towards Doel Chattar by using water cannons.
We are baffled, this movement is not a political one, people are trying to save their country from disaster, what is wrong with it?
Do not the ruling partymen belong to this country, do not they want to save the country from harm? It looks fishy, why they have become so desperate to build the power plant, for whose interest they are taking this step ignoring people’s objections?
We do not want destructions in the name of development. The government must understand that.
