Security for banks
A state-owned commercial bank was burgled on two occasions. It was happened due to poor security measures. It would not have happened if the authorities concerned had taken precautionary measures in advance and thought of safety measures for the vaults and strong rooms.
Some bank branches are stationed in remote areas which exposes them to security threats. Although the amount of money stolen was not bid in terms of the state-owned bank’s deposit, such security breaches must stop.
The Bangladesh Bank has asked all the banks to take proper security measures for their vaults and strong rooms. The sooner the state-owned banks take such security measures, the better it will be to restore public trust.
