Verses(s) and Hadith(s) not without meaning
We read the Quran and the books of Hadith, but we do not take lesson, ponder and practise. The Prophet Muhammad (SM) reciting the Verse No. 3/190 said, “Whoso reads verses like this but do not research, he is surely unfortunate, very unfortunate.”
In this column of the paper today, I shall reproduce Hadith No. 149, Hadith-e-Qudsi, for example.
The Prophet Muhammad (SM) said, “One day Allah came to me in His best structure and said: O Muhammad! Do ye know why are the Angels of the highest assembly disputing? I said: No. Then He put His hand in the middle of my shoulder and I felt coldness in my both chests and knew all that is in the heavens.
He asked me again: O Muhammad! Do you know why are the Angels of the highest assembly disputing? I said, “Yes, I know it. They are disputing about sins remitting and rank increasing deeds. Sins remitting deeds are: To stay in the mosque for sometime after completion of Namaj, to walk into the mosque to attend the Namaj with others and to perform ablution properly despite physical drawback.
Allah said: Right you are O Muhammad. When you pray to Me, say: O my Lord ! Give me power to do good deeds, to check indecency and to love the needy. At the same time, say, “Forgive me and show kindness and accept my repentance.”
He said further: Rank escalating deeds are to salute fellow men, to feed the hungry and to perform Namaj at night when all the house inmates sleep.
It is mentionable that Allah tagged feeding the hungry, clothing the clothless, giving shelter to guests and showing kindness to the poor with Namaj in Hadith No 246 of Hadith-e-Qudsi. So, Islam is not sum-total of few worships.
