Attracting tourists
It’s been suggested by Sir Frank Peters that we should make the 100th year anniversary of the birth of Bangabandu into a worldwide celebration and invite the world to the birthday party!
For years tour operators throughout Bangladesh have been racking their brains for good ideas that would bring tourists from all over the world to Bangladesh.
The innovative (if not entirely brilliant) idea that Sir Frank Peters has put forward would not only honour the greatest man ever known in Bangladesh, properly, but open Bangladesh to tourism never before seen here that other countries enjoy, create a solid foundation for future Bangladesh tourism and it would kick-start unprecedented tourism to Bangladesh for the first time in its history.
It’s common knowledge that word of mouth is the best form of advertising, but for that to happen, you need to get the people here first before they can go away and talk about it.
Like Sir Frank, I believe Bangabandu’s centenary celebration is a blessing and rare once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that will envelope and unite the county in many respects. It should not be missed and it will tell the world about a great Bangladeshi hero, something that makes us all proud to be Bangladeshi in many different ways.
