So many deaths by thunder bite :
A letter writer under the caption “mobile phone and death by lighting” wrote in an English Daily on May 21, 2016 that one of his friends told him death of so many people by lighting in Bangladesh recently could be due to the mobile phones, that the deceased may have had in their possession and probably the phones were on when lightning struck.
Dying in such a way is very tragic. We think a survey should be made to gather enough data to make sure if it is the fact, and if the investigation reveals that mobile phones played a role in the tragic events then people must be warned about the hazards and advised how to remain safe during a thunder storm. We heard that one should not use even a land phone when a thunder storm is raging. Scientific research has established that electro-magnetic signals cause many health hazards. So the apprehension so raised should be studied in depth and scientifically.
We think concerned authorities would take the matter seriously and act accordingly.
