Life at RU in 1960s
I read at Rajshahi University for four years and passed those days with pleasure and harmony. There was no clash between the students organizations except on two occasions, which, even, did not witness any sort of casualty.
Not a single teacher was disgraced for any reason whatsoever, nor a female student received indecent behaviour from the male students. The students’ union election was held peacefully and it was really difficult to believe that the university murmured with the RUCSU and the five halls students’ union election the previous day. It is because a complete peaceful environment prevailed among the general students and their leaders were pragmatic in their attitude.
Even when the new students reached the university for admission, the student leaders helped them regardless of their political affiliation. Will those days return someday or the other?
