It seems that the top leaders of Awami League have no other job other than criticising the BNP with dirty words, which people do not like. The popularity of Awami League in the rural as well as urban areas has decreased drastically.
We have known from a report that a principal of a madrasa at Boraigram of Natore has been beaten severely by the local leaders of Awami League as they demanded three lakh taka from him as bribe but he refused to give in to their demand.
There are so many stories like this and some are crueller than this. This is one of the main reasons behind the defeat of Awami League leaders in the upazila elections and we guess the same would have happened if the national election was held with the participation of the main opposition party.
