Living with a friendly neighbour

India is a big country, along side it Bangladesh looks like a molehill beside a mountain. It is a pity that we could not call it a great country because its dealings with neighbouring countries are not praiseworthy.
During the liberation war, India helped us, without its help it would not have been possible to win it, we are grateful for that. However, it was naive of us to think that it was an act of benevolence, a powerful country helping its neighbour in distress but it is not as simple as that, India had its own interest, it is like killing two birds with one stone.
They are taking advantage as much as possible. There are so many unresolved issues, like Farrakha Barrage, Tista water sharing and border killings. Its move to setting up of power plants destroying our heritage site which India will not allow in their side.
Sixteen crore people of Bangladesh are also facing many serious problems such as natural calamities, political unrest, crimes are increasing in manifolds. There is no end to their sufferings.
People are reeling under the effect of an unacceptable General Election but India did not utter a word about it, in fact, it gave support to it .We will never accept this attitude.
