Speedy power generation
The present government has become obsessed to set up power stations one after another, not caring how disastrous it will be for the country, every day news of plans for new power stations reach us. We are becoming enveloped in the darkness of hopelessness. Does the government want to turn the country into an inferno?
From newspaper reports we learned that an unsolicited deal is going on with an Indian company to build a power plant in Bhola island and the government continues to award power project contracts on the basis of unsolicited negotiations under the Special Act for Speedy Supply of Power and Energy though the country is not in dire need of electricity at the moment.
We are shocked by learning that the government has given go ahead nod to six power plants! We just cannot believe it. The country belongs to the people, the government cannot ignore them and do whatever it wishes.
