Anti-FMD vaccine for cattle
Recently, the veterinary scientists of Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (BLRI) have invented a preventive vaccine for cattle’s’ foot and mouth disease (FMD), a major viral ailment which causes the country an estimated loss of 100 billion taka annually. This locally produced vaccine would save the country a huge amount of foreign currency that would be required to import vaccine from foreign countries. I congratulate the scientists for this medical breakthrough. The government needs to encourage such inventions.
