Divided Asia is FIFA

Runner-up Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim al-Khalifa from Bahrain congratulated Swiss national Gianni Infantino on his victory as FIFA President immediately after the FIFA Presidential election on February 26.
The new president bagged 88 votes in the round of one. But he polled 115 votes in the re-run to ensure own victory.
Sheikh Salman, who got 85 votes in the first round, managed 88 votes in the re-run.
He did not get the backing of his Asian rival.
Prince Ali bin al-Hussein from Jordan received 27 votes in the first round. As he was out of race for poor performance, his Asian supporters exercised their franchise in favour of Gianni.
Europe finally won the battle because of the Asian disunity. A former footballer said, “This is unfortunate.”The concluded FIFA election once again exposed Asian split in the world of sports
In this situation, may we request the Asian Football Confederation to get united in the continent’s football interest.
