Who wins the Asia Cup
The Asia Cup Cricket 2016 began on February 24 in Dhaka with the match between pre-tournament favourites India and the hosts Bangladesh. It is the 13th edition of the tournament, the fifth being held in Bangladesh, and the first under the T20 format.
Five nations namely defending champions Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates and hosts Bangladesh are contesting for trophy.
India and Sri Lanka are favourites to clash in the final, while Pakistan and the UAE have not least chance.
It was originally 50-over match, full of excitement, romance and exultation.
So far India and Sri Lanka won five times each, while Pakistan captured the title twice only. The hosts team’s best prize was runners-up in 2012 at home.
The Cricket World Cup T20 will begin in India in the last week of March. Bangladesh will also play there and we hope that they will do well. Concentration on the pitch, apt captaincy and guard against missing the catches are the conditions of success.
