Sermons of Jummah
Jummah Namaj is the substitute for Zohr (Midday) prayer on Friday. This Namaj cannot be performed alone at home or any other place. It must be done together in the mosques. The imams deliver religious sermons (Khutba) every Friday before Namaj reminding the devotees of their duties towards Allah and towards mankind and own family. The sermons must include the necessity of ameliorating ethics and morality, and merits of unity and discipline.
The second part of the Khutba is attributed to praising Allah and the Prophet Muhammad (SM), and Hazrat Abu Bakr (RA), Hazrat Omar (RA), Hazrat Uthman (RA), Hazrat Ali (RA), Fatima-binte-Muhammad, Imam Hasan, Imam Hossein, Hamzah and Abbas. This has been running for centuries.
The ordinance for Jummah Namaj is found in the Surah Jumu’ah. The Text is: O you who believe! When [the Azan] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumu’ah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew.
