Most movies lack messages :
On Monday night, I watched on the VIDEO Channel a movie titled ‘Destination’ produced by film star Omar Sani, who also played the role of the central character. Body guard of the daughter of a rich man, Omar tried his best to avoid indecency and he was successful.
The director of the motion picture did not include any dance, nor exposed the female actresses in an indecent way. Again there was just one song only in order to create a new dimension in the filmdom of the country. But I am sorry to say that I could not read or find any message in the story.
In this connection, I remember those movies produced in the late fifties and the early sixties. These were Mukh O Mukhosh, Matir Pahar, Akash o Mati, Tomar Aamar, A Desh Tomar Aamar, Je Nadi Marupathe, Nadi O Nari, Aito Jiban, Kancher Dewal, Kakhano Asenei, Suryo Snan, Dharapat, Avirbhav, Kagojer Nouka, Sootarang, and Nishi Holo Bhor. Those movie stories carried strong messages, indeed.
Every movie of that time left a message for us. However, I take the opportunity to congratulate Omar Sani for presenting a decent movie like Destination and hope that he will continue his movement.
