Anti-earthquake preparations
In the early morning of January 4, quite a strong earthquake jolted Bangladesh. The year 2016 started by making people panicked, five people died and 100 were injured.
Experts said that by the year 2020 there is the chance of a strong earthquake to strike our country. It will be devastating as eighty thousand buildings are vulnerable in Dhaka city alone, which will crumble down taking a huge toll.
Preparations to minimise the damage must start from this moment. Faulty buildings should be marked and necessary steps be taken to make those safe.
Concerned authorities should not waste time dilly-dallying because outcome of the negligence will be catastrophic.
We hope and pray nothing to happen still we have to remain prepared. May The Almighty Allah have mercy on us.
