High decibel sound pollution

Sadly enough, Dhaka City – Capital of Bangladesh, ranks at a very high level in a negative list of sound pollution of the cities in the World. In Dhaka, the average noise level is about 120 decibel (45 decibel being the moderate or tolerable scale).
Sound pollution causes serious health problem(s) for elderly people with history of cardiac troubles, expecting women and the neo-natals.
Study revealed that breast-feeding kids got shocked at sudden high sounds and cannot take full quantity of their food due to disturbances. This injures their growth and development – both physical and mental in the later phase of life. Similarly, sound shock often prove fatal for cardiac patients.
Thus, we request the authorities concerned, to check the level of sound pollution in the city in the interest of public health.
