Feed the hungry people first

In our society, for years there has been going on a chronic habit of spending money lavishly for making programme successful or to be seen by others. This is simply impractical and unfortunate, because a hungry child wants nothing but foods. National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam in his famous poetry ‘Aamar Kaifiot’ writes: A hungry child wants not self-rule, he wants handful of rice, slight salt.
Cannot we stop lavish expenditure for the sake of hungry babies, in greater sense hungry people?
