It was MSC’s helpless surrender
A packed stadium in Chittagong witnessed the Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club’s (MSC) helpless surrender to East Bengal Club from Calcutta, India in the first edition of the Sheikh Kamal International Gold Cup Football on Wednesday. It appeared to us from the body language of the players that they were worn-out, directionless, lackluster and dawdling.
Almost all the players of the MSC staggered right from the beginning of the match and exhibited unwillingness to win. Contrarily, the Calcutta League Champions, fourth in I-League 2014-15, played a cool, calculative and determined football. The footballers were not in a hurry but utilized the scoring opportunities.
The Dhaka club could have gone ahead by at least two goals within the first 10 minutes, but the poor finishing spoiled the bright chance of landing in the final. To quote Brazilian star Zico, “Football is the game of goals.”
However, at the end of the day, Chittagoan Abahani Club own the cup beating the East Bengal Club of Kolkata by a margin of 3-1. Congratulations to the winners.

War and annihilation
The governments of some rich Arab countries have no time to give foods, clothing, shelter and medicine to the stateless Rohingya Muslims of Myanmar, but they have enough time to drop bombs on hospitals, schools and colleges, mosques, market places and wedding parties in their neighbouring countries by misinterpreting the word ‘Jihad.’
According to a television report, the Yangoon government patronized killing of the Muslims in that country and to force them to leave for ever. But there is none in the world to rescue them from the holocaust.
In this regard, may I draw the attentions of the governments of some Middle-East countries to Hadith No. 246 of Hadith-i-Qudsi wherein it has been said that Allah accepts Namaj of him who feeds the hungry, clothe the clotheless, shelters the strangers, show kindness to the distress and abstains from disobeying His command.
We appeal to the UNO, the OIC and the Arab League to save the souls of the Rohingya Muslims.
