It was MSC’s helpless surrender
A packed stadium in Chittagong witnessed the Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club’s (MSC) helpless surrender to East Bengal Club from Calcutta, India in the first edition of the Sheikh Kamal International Gold Cup Football on Wednesday. It appeared to us from the body language of the players that they were worn-out, directionless, lackluster and dawdling.
Almost all the players of the MSC staggered right from the beginning of the match and exhibited unwillingness to win. Contrarily, the Calcutta League Champions, fourth in I-League 2014-15, played a cool, calculative and determined football. The footballers were not in a hurry but utilized the scoring opportunities.
The Dhaka club could have gone ahead by at least two goals within the first 10 minutes, but the poor finishing spoiled the bright chance of landing in the final. To quote Brazilian star Zico, “Football is the game of goals.”
The East Bengal Club will face Chittagong Abahani Club in the final today. Whichever team wins, we want continuation of the tournament with more standard clubs from the eastern and the western regions of the continent.

Unlimited barbarity
The Israeli armed forces have been killing the Palestine men and women and children in the occupied Palestine, taking advantage of the underway civil wars in the Muslim world. Neither the west nor the east has condemned the barbarity nor warned Tel Aviv of severe consequences.
Experts say that the Jew State of Israel has resorted to barbarism despite presence of a unit of the Russian armed forces in Syria and a Chinese Aircraft Carrier in the Mediterranean Sea near the Syrian coast. The Israeli Prime Minister knows it well if Russia drops a cruise Missiles in Israel even by mistake, it may trigger the Third World War. We know that Russia will not take that risk but it can ask the Tel Aviv government to stop killing of the helpless Palestine people in no loss of time. We also believe that such call may be effective.
Will Moscow do that?
