Equal enforcement of law
We are stunned by learning that police still did not take actions against the teenage drunk driver who injured four people on October 12,2015. Deputy Commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Muntasirul Islam told the meida on October 21 that police is yet to receive the High Court directives to take legal actions against the offender. We did not hear anything so obnoxious ever before, is it not the duty of the police to apprehend any criminal activities on the spot, do they wait for the High Court directives for it, the explanation is so absurd that it is making us indignant.
If the boy was not the nephew of a former Awami. League MP, the picture would have been different, the boy and his family would have to go through hell, police would have taken action immediately. This disparity is shameful. Law-enforcing agents must shun it and perform their duty honestly.
