Promoting Badminton
China;s super star Dan won the Men’s single title in the Japan Open Badminton Championship 2015 concluded on Sunday. The 31-year old Lin Dan beat Denmark’s Axelson 2-1in a hard-fought final match to prove that regular practice and determination can overcome age complication.
Badminton is a popular sport of tremendous energy and spirit for success. That is why, every year more than 140 international tournaments are held across the world.
In the championship, China captured two gold medals and two silvers, Denmark annexed one gold and two silvers, Japan won one gold and one silver while South Korea clinched one gold medal only. Former badminton super power Indonesia miserably failed to win any gold or silver medal in the championship.
Recently the prize money is being raised. As for example, the amount of prize money of the Dubai Open is $10, 00,000, of the Indonesia Open is $8, 00,000, the Australian Open $7, 50,000 and the China Open is $7, 00,000.
In this regard, we like to say that Bangladesh Badminton Federation should stress on building up one or two players who can surprise the world of badminton in the coming days. Proper planning and execution thereof can make the mission successful.

New soccer coach
Bangladesh Football team gets its new coach. He is from the four times World Champions Italy. Change of coach is part of game because it is done for getting better result. But success does not reach home many times, as had not happened in the case of Brazil between 2006 and 2014.
The coaches were solely responsible. They made mistakes from the team selection to the planning and its strategy. Bangladesh will play their four remaining matches of the World Cup 2018 and the Asian Cup 2019 qualifying rounds under the new coach. As we have no idea about the new football coach, we have to wait.
In this regard, we shall request the Bangladesh Football Federation to enrich the football calendar year. An international club football tournament can be arranged within next three months.
