Let us target Asian Cup Football :Bangladesh football team will meet Jordan in a World Cup 2018 and the Asian Cup 2019 qualifying round match on Tuesday in Dhaka, promising of better football. The hosts have already missed the World Cup, but can still sail into the final round of the Asian Cup involving 24 nations to be hosted by the UAE.A total of 24 teams eliminated from World Cup qualification in the second round will compete in the third round of 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualification (which will be separate from the third round of 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification), where they will be divided into six groups of four teams and compete for the remaining 12 slots of the 2019 AFC Asian Cup. The 24 teams will consist of the 16 highest ranked teams eliminated in the second round, and the eight teams that advance from the play-off round of 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualification which are to face contest from the remaining 12 teams eliminated in the second round. So, if Bangladesh fail to cruise into the Asian Cup directly, they will get another chance to prove their worth. With this object in mind, the Federation needs to devise the plan, showing no leniency to the execution.Bangladesh should not loose heart after 0-5 goals defeat to Australia when China drew with minnows Hong Kong at home, Bhutan conceded 15 goals against Qatar and Malaysia swallowed 10 goals against UAE.China will face surprise elimination if they do not play improved football in next matches since Qatar are in this group.In Group B, Australia lead the points table with maximum six points from two matches followed by Jordan on four points in two matches, Kyrgyzstan on four points in three matches, Tajikistan and Bangladesh one point each in two and three matches respectively.So, let us hope the best for our national football team.Khurshida HaqueDhaka
