World Cup Volleyball 2015 :
The 2015 Volleyball Men’s World Cup will be played from September 8 to September 23 in Japan. Twelve nations will take part in the competition. The participating nations are Australia, hosts Japan, Iran, Egypt, Tunisia, the USA, Canada, Argentina, Venezuela, Italy, Russia and Poland.
Iran, 10th in the world ranking, will play their first match on September 8 against Argentina, while Japan will meet Egypt the same day.
The competition system of the 2015 World Cup for men is the single Round-Robin system. The teams have been divided into two groups of six. In round one, there will be played 30 matches in five days of the competition, each team play against other teams in the same group.
For rounds 2 and 3, total 36 matches in six days of competition, each team play against the teams in the another group. The pool composition followed the Serpentine system based on the World ranking which the host team was at the top position. There are no teams from CAVB on the drawing of lots day, the teams from CAVB are at bottom position of pool composition.
Volleyball was once a very popular sport in this country. It was played in the winter, now it is played in all seasons if situation demands. We want to enjoy the World Cup matches live and we therefore request the ministry of sport, ministry of information and the private television channels to make an arrangement in order to bring back volleyball as a popular sport.
