Railway has no published Time-Table

The Bangladesh Railway unlike all other railway companies throughout the world does not print time-table for its passengers. This is inexplicable and beyond. It is more than 25 years that the railway administration has stopped printing of the time-table, giving no explanation. If a passenger wants to travel to Rajshahi or Chittagong, whatever venue it may be, he will have to go to his nearest railway station first for information and then again on the day of journey. It is annoying and, therefore, every passenger will prefer journey by bus finally.
Frequent train accidents, resultant suspension of communication, closure of railway stations and shortage of manpower have clouded the vividness of the once most popular transport sector. The miseries began early in nineties with the bifurcation of the railway administration despite presence of five active divisions namely Paksey, Lalmonirhat, Dhaka, Bhairob Bazar and Chittagong.
Perhaps, during this time or a bit early, the railway administration stopped printing time-table, which is really mysterious. However, considering the necessity and the tradition, we will urge the railway administration to take initiative to reprint the time-table as quick as possible in the interest of their passengers.
Another reason of misery is shortage of manpower. The railway jobs being technical and quasi-technical, no one will be able to discharge his duties, unless he has been imparted necessity training. Attention should also be given before it becomes a clinically dead entity.
