Road accidents
Different quarters have argued that stringent enforcement of traffic rules and routine examination of fitness certificates and relevant documents of motorised vehicles and licences of the drivers could play a major role in bringing down the number of road accidents and fatalities. It is also said that reckless driving continues unabated because there has hardly been any demonstrative actions against such of traffic rule and regulation violations. Law enforcers, however, in most cases, look the other way. Even if law enforcers stop the offenders, which is quite rare, most of them dodge punitive measures allegedly in exchange for bribes. Social forces need to raise voice so that authorities take effective measures.
