Freedom is not unlimited

London’s Guardian newspaper has published a statement issued by 178 writers of different countries, condemning murder of three atheist bloggers in Bangladesh in last few months. The statement has also demanded arrest of killers. Among the signatories, there is Salman Rushdie, who is infamous for his anti-Islam role. However, we consider each killing is painful particularly to the survivors of the family and the killers should be brought under the process of law and duly punished. Similarly, no one should enjoy the liberty to insult the religious sentiments or the very basics of other’s faith(s) in the name of so-called free thinking. No one should cross the sanity of recognized social matrix.
In this regard, I like to remind them that freedom does not mean limitless freedom. I cannot infringe upon the right of others, while enjoying my right. The signatories should read first Political Science before issuing such statement.
I will ask the signatories to be vocal about the continuous violation of human rights in the western countries and the USA.
