People want peace, not deaths
Everything is not finished with the death of a man. If the deceased left no other earning member, but bunch of children, wife and aged parents, they will gradually sink in the sea of distress if the State does not take care of them.
Even if someone else responsible for the unnatural death of the man is put to death, the deceased’s family condition will not improve. For their survival, good planning and financial support, which the State only can give, are essential. We know that State takes no responsibility. But State is under obligation according to the Marxian and the Islamic philosophy to look after a helpless family until someone from among them attains such ability.
It means that the government of Bangladesh will punish those devising and throwing petrol bombs into the buses, trucks, baby-taxies and rickshaws, causing death to someone and injuring others. The State will not only ensure democracy, will also make sure of rice and pulse too. It will be clear from the national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam’s poem ‘Aamar Kaifiot’ in this regard?
“Hungry child wants not self-rule, (he or she) wants some rice, little salt.
Day passes on, but the baby takes not food as yet, burns the little empty stomach (in appetite).
What has been happening in our country for last two months is not at all acceptable, nor desirable. We want peace; we do not want petrol bombs and gunshots to disturb our peaceful life.
