A good start indeed
We congratulate the Bangladesh cricket team for securing two valuable points from Wednesday’s win against the war torn Afghanistan in a Group ‘A’ match of the ICC World Cup Cricket 2015 in Canberra, capital of co-hosts Australia. The Asian team can anticipate a win against Scotland of the United Kingdom and then must beat a seeded team, which is difficult but not impossible.
Verily the Bangladesh coach and the captain must do some homework for the match against Scotland in view of the Scots’ brilliant performance against co-hosts New Zealand on Tuesday. We know that anything can happen in games and sports. In the past, we had watched several upset results. Cricket experts say that unexpected results increase the beauty of a match, of a tournament.
Captain Mashrafe and his team mates should not exult right now, as they have to go a long way. We hope that our players will be able to fulfill the nation’s expectations of a berth in the quarter-finals, where their probable opponents will be either India or South Africa.
