A harmful misinterpretation
One day one of my sisters wanted to know from me what will happen to the property of her husband after his death, as she has no son but two daughters only? I said: Worry not. The whole property except a very little fraction will belong to them according to the Ordiance of Allah. She said: How is that?
I said: Your two daughters will inherit two-thirds of the property of their father, and you will receive one-eighth, and since your husband’s parents are not alive, the remaining portion will also go to your daughters, in total they will inherit fifth/sixth of the whole property.
She was not still calm as some one told her that nephews of her husband are entitled to the property as he has no son(s). I said: It is not Mohammedan law, but Hindu law of inheritance. I also advised her to study the verses No. 11, 12 and 176 of Surah An-Nisa in the Holy Quran to get the appropriate answer.
What appears to me that many of us misinterpret the verses of the Quran in order to deceive women of their shares in the deceased’s property, and right to education and job. So, we should be united against the misinterpretation of the Quran and the Hadith..

Place peace first
On January 14 , 2015 many news papers carried the news of Prime Minister calling Rabindra Sangeet singer Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya on a live TV show and wishing her ” Happy Birthday “.
The incident has made us to think ruefully that the PM has got the time and enthusiasm to respond in that way but the cries of sixteen crore helpless people fail to move her, she remains impassive. But if she wishes she can bring peace in a moment, as “her wish is the command”.
We hope the PM will not remain indifferent, do whatever is needed to bring peace and stability to the country.
