Int’l soccer meet

The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has been trying hard for last few months to hold an international football tournament. The effort is welcome and can be done without difficulty, even with lesser number of teams. If Asia No. 1 Iran, Asia Champions Japan and traditional power house South Korea are convinced to take part, a more attractive and crowd-drawing International Bangabandhu Gold Cup Football tournament is possible just after the 17th edition of the Asia Cup Football Tournament beginning in Australia from January 9.
Will the BFF respond to our view?

Shares of inheritance

block

All the Muslims have the right to inherit deceased’s property, even if they are from different sects in Islam. But males and females cannot inherit property equally, for, the females have no financial obligation for the families. Allah says in Verse No. 34 of Surah An-Nisa that males maintain females. Perhaps, this is the reason that males receive deceased’s property twice of the females.
The lone exception is that each parent receives one-sixth of the children’s property, yet mother has no financial responsibility.
But for ages, in our society most of the males deprive or try to deprive women of their shares in the deceased’s property. Not only that, they (females) are in many cases driven out of their parents’ homes because offenders know it well that law will hardly punish them.
So, to protect the females (and orphans)’ interest in the deceased’s property, State is under obligation to make law, keeping provision of stern punishment for violation of such jurisprudence as treats women equally with males..
