An invitation to HE US Ambassador
Your Excellency,
As the representative of our friendly country, the United States of America, you have long been contributing to our development and progress. We are very much thankful to you and the government of America for this act of friendship.
We would like to congratulate you for visiting different districts of our motherland. It is a great pleasure and a matter of inspiration for us as citizens of Bangladesh that as the Ambassador of the USA you have visited many districts of Bangladesh. According to our humble evaluation, it is a friendly attempt to convey the message of friendship of your country to our people in general.
In this context, we would like to draw your kind attention to the fact that the government of Bangladesh decided to upgrade all subdivisions of Bangladesh to districts aiming to realise the decentralisation policies in 1984. But, our sub-division Barisal Sadar (North) was excluded from that upgradation list, though it had the importance to become a district then. And this sub-division still deserves to be upgraded as a district. Though it has been deprived of the status of becoming a district, it deserves the status constitutionally for its historical, political, cultural, social and anthropological importance. The demand for Barisal North District has grass root supports and legal ground.
In these circumstances, we would like to invite you to visit our area after completing your concluding visits of greater Comilla and Noakhali’s five districts on the eve of your departure as outgoing Ambassador of USA to Bangladesh.
We would be much grateful to you for your visit to our area. We want to extend our humble traditional hospitality to you. Wish you the best.
