Martial art in cinema
In the world of cinema, martial art has occupied a significant room because of its marvelous techniques and beauty. Who is there who has not heard the name of Shaolin Temple of China ? Legendary Bruce Lee, Jet Lee, Jacky Chan, Cynthia Khan, Michella Khan and Cynthia Rodrogue have uplifted martial art to the pinnacle. The film directors of Hollywood have also treated it with special connotation.
That is why the martial art based movies are very popular through out the world.
Likewise, among the SAARC members, Bangladesh had best potentials. But our film directors failed to evaluate. Ilyas Cobra, Siraj Panna, Dani Sidak, Kabir Khan, Chinese, Sancho Panja, Chita, Rubel and Don are, among others, can be used to make a breathtaking film to charm the world. But they have not been properly used. As a result, the fighting scene in the Bangladeshi cinemas has damaged the beauty of martial art. We admit that few directors like Shahidul Islam Khokan tried to evaluate the above actors.
I believe that it is very possible to make pure martial art based movies with Ilyas Kobra, Siraj Panna, Dani Sidak, Kabir Khan, Chinese, Sancho Panja, Chita, Rubel and Don and others. However, it will be unjust to cast some one, who does not know martial art, in the main role. Our film directors may try afresh. Will they?
